"Rhyss Lewis; A Multi Threat Player"
Athletic/Scorer/Defense
Strengths:
Originally from East St. Louis IL, Born into Sports, Grandson, Nephew and Son of three, Sports Hall-Of-Fame Inductees.  Athletic and explosive scoring point guard, with a Deadly, Smooth Jump-Shot Stroke, from both the mid-range out to and beyond the NBA 3! Attacks the basket… Can handle the rock well and get into the lane effortlessly … Finishes well at the rim and his skill and understanding of the game allows him to play much bigger than his 6-2.5 height … Gets good lift on his jump-shot and has a quick release … Solid passer, always looks for the open man … A gym rat, really works hard and methodically to improve! Has a great attitude, extremely coachable, a coach's player. Has the potential to be a big-time scorer when given the chance … excels defensively and has a chance to develop into a great defender … His anticipation for steals and his on ball defensive ability has the potential to be special. On the offensive end, Rhyss works off solid, consistent scoring patterns, while staying in sync and the natural flow of the game with his teammates. This puts a lot of pressure on defense with his scoring ability and quickness ... Can get any shot he wants and has great shot efficiency ... Teams are completely focusing on him defensively, rotating different players at him, so he's under pressure at all times and still finds a way to hit difficult shots... Rhyss can put the ball on the floor and create his own shot from anywhere on the floor and he doesn’t need much space to get his shot off.  Gets defenders off balance... Very difficult to guard because he possesses a quick and consistent release on his shot and has NBA range ... Moves well without the ball. Great footwork when coming off screens, always ready to shoot ... In the open court he can stop on a dime at full speed, with his feet in perfect position and separate from his defender for an open jump-shot ... Great vision while driving to the basket and control with the ball ... As a willing passer, he is always looking for the open man... Defensively, Rhyss is crafty and a smart defender with good active hands, leading the nation in steals, can be a lock-down defender; moves his feet well on defense and stays in front of his man without gambling much ... Solid lateral quickness. Excellent free-throw shooter .893, gets to the line consistently.  Doesn’t show too much emotion, even keeled. Has been around the game his entire life which gives him an edge knowing what it takes ... Shows the understanding of the game that you would expect from an NBA Player!
Weaknesses:
Must become a better passer out of ball pressure... Must be more aggressive and attack ball pressure... Must continue to improve his body strength... Rushing moves and patterns causes him to get stuck and make turnovers... Although he's playing the 2 guard this year, he's not a natural 2 guard... At times he can be lazy on defense and during game he can tend to take possessions off... Needs to continue to develop his mentality to play through bad shooting performances... Needs to continue to develop his Winning Decisions Mentality, (The right player having the ball at the right time.)... Needs to continue to develop his ability to finish and get his shots off through contact... Needs to continue to develop his leadership mentality... Rhyss's only ceiling is his own mentality of himself!

South Suburban Bulldogs
South Suburban has proven to be a great fit for Rhyss. With Veteran Coach John Piggatti’s DRIVE, and KNOWLEDGE of the game, the two have gelled together nicely. Coach Pigatti had the opportunity to observe Rhyss’s game this summer in open gym. Coach saw Rhyss’s potential and capabilities, designed a system that places Rhyss in situations where he can be successful, and drives Rhyss to meet his maximum potential! This has proven to be a successful formula for the undefeated, #1 Ranked in the Nation, Bulldogs!
